    • Reserved transport from P2 Skjeggedal to P3 Mågelitopp and back down again included in the price (normal price 200 NOK). NB: the road might be closed between P2 and P3 in May and October due to snow on the road - in that case the hike starts from Skjeggedal (P2).
    • Pictures: your guides will help you to take good photos during the entire hike
    • If needed we will provide snowshoes in snowy and icy conditions. Most likely in May, September and October.

See the packing list below of what you need to bring for the hike.

  • The hike to Trolltunga is long, 20 km return from Mågelitopp (P3), where we most of the time start our hike. Therefore this hike requires good physical condition and the ability to hike for many hours. Our guides will do their very best to take care of you but it is also important that you have the equipment (clothes) and physical strength necessary. See our packing list below before your hike.

In the snowy period of the year (often October - May) the road between Skjeggedal (P2) and Mågelitopp (P3) is closed and then the hike starts from Skjeggedal (P2).

At 07.30 we will meet you at our meeting point in Skjeggedal (read more about getting to Skjeggedal and the surrounding area HERE). Here our guide will welcome you and tell you some information about the hike before we start our adventure. If the conditions allow us, we will be able to drive up to Mågelitopp (P3), which will save us 4km and 400 vertical meters(!) each way.

On our way to Trolltunga your guide will tell you interesting facts and stories from the area as well as stop for some breaks. You will visit some of our hidden gems along the trek and stop at the very best photo spots.

At Trolltunga we will make a longer stop and enjoy the beautiful scenery and have some well deserved lunch before we head back towards civilization. Coming to Trolltunga might be the highlight and goal for many visitors, but the way back is equally interesting and beautiful. We will have time to enjoy the breathtaking views on our way back as well.

Depending on the pace of the group and the weather conditions, we expect the hike to take 10-12 hours.

  • Remember that the weather changes quickly in the Norwegian mountains, the weather forecasts are often unpredictable and even on a summer day there can be snow. It is important that you wear good outdoor gear and have some extra clothes with you if it is cold. You never know what the weather will be - if you are lucky to get a sunny and warm day, a towel and swimwear could be nice to bring if you want to take a refreshing and cold swim in the mountain lakes.

    Packing list:

    • Sunglasses
    • Sunscreen
    • Snacks
    • Waterproof jacket and pants
    • Waterproof hiking boots

    • Backpack - minimum 30 liters + rain cover

    • Warm wool socks x2

The list is based on what we think is most significant to bring. The most important thing to remember is to bring enough warm clothes. Our best tip is to use wool as it will keep you warm, even when it's wet.

NB: Parking at P2 or shuttle to/from Odda is not included in the price.

One of our top priorities is to leave no trace in the wonderful Norwegian nature. We try to leave the surroundings at least as good as we found them. We invite you to join us in this by taking down everything you bring up into the mountains.

NB: It’s recommended to use a guide outside the summer season which is defined between the 15th of June and the 1th of October. This is due to uncertainty related to weather, snow, rivers, and less daylight, which again have led to several rescue operations over the years. The weather changes fast at this time of the season.

Note: A minimum of three guests must be registered for us to go through with the tour. We will give you a full refund if we have to cancel due to too few registrants.

You must have valid travel insurance for adventure tours.
